Online dating profile name
When some people join second or third sites, they feel the need to reinvent themselves each time.
If someone has already reviewed your profile on another site and made a decision about you, then seeing the same specific name will cut to the chase for both of you even if you’re on a different site.
Below are some examples: is the area code for where Joseph grew up in.
Or maybe Joseph lives within the 714 area code and is searching in that vicinity.
However, if 714 has no real relevance to his life then it’s a missed opportunity to tell a potential date something about himself. If she wants a guy to take her seriously and if she wants to meet a guy who’s serious in return, then she would be better off choosing a name that conveys other information about her. If so, she could turn heads with screen name Ashley Baby Blue. Tennis Pro Len gives you an immediate sense that this guy is active, likes the outdoors and is competitive in nature.
—Let’s say Ashley or AH wants to be in a serious relationship but she names herself this thinking it will better attract a man because, well, sex sells. Len is more likely to get clicked on just because his screen name is informative. While some people might find it obnoxious that Len put Pro in his name, more will likely find it intriguing. If someone cannot understand what your profile means, they will never click on it.
As for nailing that perfect screen name, it helps to start at the top of the alphabet, according to their newly released analysis.
An analysis about online dating published in the journal Evidence Based Medicine suggests that men are drawn to online profiles in which a user name signifies physical fitness, while women prefer user names indicating risk-taking. The joint data analysis, by researchers with Queen Mary University of London and the University of Texas, found that choosing internet dating handles that begin with a letter in the first half of the alphabet is as important as uploading a flattering profile pic or crafting the perfect introductory headline."Initial interest was best captured through: a desirable screen name starting with a letter in the top half of the alphabet; an attractive still picture; and a fluent headline message," the paper says.
Researchers from Queen Mary University of London wondered the same thing, so they analyzed previous research on attraction.
It was your identity, your marker, and you’d better be happy with picking “DMX123” because you could be stuck with it for years.
When picking a username, opt for incorporating more desirable traits rather than ones with negative connotations, the researchers wrote.

And while those micro-decisions seem unimportant, they add up and do matter, because you’re only as good as the profile you craft.
